The Last Blossom

A 48-second, wordless ink-wash film. A weary samurai returns to a ruined shrine and discovers its last living blossom. A storm takes the shape of an enormous ink wolf. He fights it, but each cut feeds the storm. He lowers his sword and shelters the small tree with his cloak. The wolf dissolves into birds; the tree blooms. Leaving his weapon beneath its branches, the samurai bows and walks into the morning mist. The film plays automatically without sound.
